2016 Summer Camps


Community Park Player Development Camp

This camp is for all levels, ages 8 to 15 years old, and is offered each week of the summer from June 20 to August 12.

The Player Development Camp is offered from 9:00am to 4:30…fee:$250/week or register by May 1st to receive early bird discount and pay just $225/week.

*Free Extended Care: 8:30 – 9:00am and 4:30 – 5:30pm. This is free play in a supervised environment.
This offering is to help the working parents drop-off and pick-up their kids at a more convenient time. Also, rain back-up!!! Games in Community Park Elementary School. You don’t need to come get your child if it rains in the middle of the day. Camp may still be cancelled if the day appears to be a total wash-out!

All campers will receive T-Shirt.

Late Penalty: Pick-up must be by 5:30pm otherwise there is $1/minute fee charged and should be paid directly to the instructor.

Morning: 9:00am – 12:00 noon

Focus on tennis strokes, footwork, hand-eye coordination, physical fitness, rules, sportsmanship and FUN! USTA evaluations will be offered. Friday is Davis Cup day (and prizes) emphasis on team spirit.

Lunch Break: 12:00 – 1:30pm

Supervised lunch. No refrigeration on site. Lunches must be packed appropriately.

Afternoon: 1:30pm – 4:30pm

Focus on team format, match play, rules, scoring, sportsmanship and FUN! Thursday we offer swimming in the afternoon. Kids may also have an opportunity to compete in exchange matches with other local programs in the area.

Community Park Rookie Camp

This tennis camp is geared for beginners, ages 5 to 10 years old, and is offered each week of the summer from June 20 to August 12.

CP Rookie Camp is offered from 9:00am to noon (drop-off as early as 8:30am)…fee:$200/week or register by May 1st to receive early bird discount and pay just $185/week.

Focus on tennis strokes, footwork, hand-eye coordination, physical fitness, rules, sportsmanship and FUN! USTA evaluations will be offered. Friday is Davis Cup day (and prizes) emphasis on team spirit.

All campers will receive T-Shirt.

Combine the 1/2 day Rookie Camp with the afternoon YMCA sports camp program*. The Y will pick up your child at CP and walk them back for lunch and the afternoon sports program at the Y.

Veteran’s Park Tennis Camp

This tennis camp is geared for beginners and advanced beginners, ages 7 to 12 years old, and is offered Week 1: July 11-15, Week 2: July 18-22, Week 3: July 25-29, Week 4: Aug 1-5, Week 5: Aug 8-12.

VP Tennis Camp is offered from 9:00am to noon (drop-off as early as 8:30am)…fee:$165/week or register by May 1st to receive early bird discount and pay just $150/week.

Children will work on eye-hand coordination, catching, throwing, footwork, and basic stroke production. As their skills improve, they will learn to rally and play matches. PTP believes in using transitional tennis balls to enhance the learning process.

PTP Tournament Training & Elite Camp at Princeton

This camp is for PTP Tournament Training and Elite students or by approval of Glenn Michibata, ATP. Students currently in PTP’s bronze, silver, gold, HST, or Elite Training are automatically eligible. Otherwise, approval is necessary. Camp is offered each week of the summer from June 20 to August 12.

PTP Tournament Training Camp will be held at Community Park Tennis Complex (2 weeks) from June 27-July 1, July 5-July 8. All other weeks are held at the Pagoda Courts at Princeton University. INDOOR BACK-UP: If it is questionable weather or raining in the morning, we will hold camp that day at the Eve Kraft Community Tennis Center. Call the Princeton Weather Hotline to confirm where camp will be on a given day, 609-520-0015 ext. 2.
Full-day: 9:00am to 4:30pm…fee: $380/wk or register by May 1st to receive early bird discount and pay just $345/week.

Stroke work, high energy drills and conditioning, emphasis on proper footwork and mechanics.

Lunch Break: 12:00 – 1:30pm
No refrigeration on site. Lunches must be packed appropriately.

Afternoon: 1:30pm – 4:30pm
Strategy and experience gained through competitive point situations, match play and tournaments!

Girls High School Prep at Princeton University

This camp is for girl’s trying out or on their high school team…ages 14 to 17 years old, and is offered July 18-22 and July 25-29. Campers must be able to play full-court tennis!

Full-day: 9:00am to 4:30pm…fee: $380/wk or register by May 1st to receive early bird discount and pay just $345/week.

All campers will receive T-Shirt.

Girl’s will drill in the morning and play matches in the afternoon all at Princeton University’s Pagoda Tennis Courts.
Be prepared to work and play hard! This will be a valuable program designed specifically for girls who are on their high school team or plan to try out for it. Emphasis on tennis strokes, strategy, positioning, conditioning, match play, mental toughness and nutrition.

Davis Cup and Match Play at Community Park

For children that can hit full-court, ages 10 to 17 years old.

Offered August 15 to August 19.

Davis Cup: 9:00am to noon…fee: $90/week
Match Play: 1:30pm to 4:30pm…fee: $90/week
Full Day Option: 9:00am to 4:30pm…fee: $150/week

SPECIAL FREE---register for 6 weeks (or more of camp) and receive Davis Cup FREE...call the office for more information!

Davis Cup is a fun team format and Match Play is supervised matches. Your child can do either or both.
